The compact servo can rotate approximately 180 degrees (90 degrees in each direction) and operates similarly to the standard servos you're familiar with, just in a smaller size. You can utilize any servo code, hardware, or library to control these servos. It's ideal for beginners who wish to create movement without the need for constructing a motor controller with feedback and a gearbox, especially since it can fit into tight spaces. However, it is important to note that it is not as powerful as a standard servo. It works excellently with the Motor Shield for Arduino, our 16-channel Servo Driver, or simply by connecting it using the Servo library. It comes with several horns and hardware.

To control it with an Arduino, we recommend connecting the orange control wire to pin 9 or 10 and using the Servo library included in the Arduino IDE (see here for an example sketch). The position “0” (1.5ms pulse) represents the middle, “90” (~2ms pulse) indicates full right, and “-90” (~1ms pulse) signifies full left.

Note: Servo all metal means that both the spindle and gearwheel are made entirely of iron.
